Quenching tanks
Quenching tank double-wall body is made of sectional steel and plates. The bath is fi tted with electric heating and water cooling.
Quenching media stirring is ensured by submerged agitators and by pumping through the cooler. Cooling circuit is connected to water plate heat exchangers. Cooling unit consists of the pump that pumps the quenching media from the tank to the plate heat exchanger and back. Plate exchanger is connected to cooling water from cooling tower with adequate fl ow.
Temperature is automatically controlled. Modifi cation of quenching:
» The charge in the bath is hanged on the crane
» The charge is immerged to the bath on the forklift of charger and moves up and down in quenching liquid
» The charge is placed on the quenching table and moves up and down in quenching liquid
» Cooling circuit is fi tted with all necessary manual and electromagnetic valves, taps, fi lters, gauges, etc
Circulation pump can be used to pump out the quenching media form the tank.
Oil tank
When quenching in oil the anti-fi re precaution has to be fulfi lled.
Because of the danger of oil ignition following data must be monitored:
» cooling system is running
» temperature of the oil is under allowable limit
» oil pumps are running
In addition to above mentioned precaution the nitrogen extinguish equipment is installed that lead the nitrogen to the oil surface. The equipment is started automatically or manually.
Accessory: nitrogen gas pressure bottle set, powdery extinguisher.
Electric Charger / Extractor
Application
Charger is used for charging/discharging trays with charge and moving between furnace and quenching tanks, cooling chamber or loading place. Charger is driven on rails by electromotor.
Fork moves vertically by electromotor or by hydraulic.
Automatic control systems
Modifi cation 1:
» microprocessor controller
» software for proces monitoring on PC
» operating from control desk
Modifi cation 2:
Temperature and technological requirements are set and controlled from control box of automatic
control system that is fi t by supervisory control system. Automatic heating process is started according to the required technology.
Technological programs are permanently stored and available in the system.
Following data are displayed:
» Temperature process value – furnace, quenching tank
» Time of heat treatment, remaining time
» Program setting and correcting (temperature, cooling time, etc.)
» Machinery status (e.g. door opening, ventilator run, etc.)
» Failure report (non-closed door, etc)
» Record and storing of measured values in tables or as charts
» Data back up on independent data carrier
» Data of charge (customer, material, etc.)
